About this property

Welcome to Crane Hot Springs

Crane Hot Springs is a rustic resort hotel offering a unique blend of accommodations including cabins, cottages, a teepee, and an RV park with full hookups. Located in a remote desert setting off Route 78, it provides a peaceful retreat that is about 4 miles from the small town of Crane and within driving distance of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge.

The property’s standout feature is its natural hot springs pond and several soaking tubs, praised by guests for their mineral-rich waters and relaxing qualities. The pond remains open 24 hours with quiet hours in place, allowing visitors to enjoy the soothing thermal waters under the stars. Facilities are kept clean and functional, although guests should be prepared for a more rustic experience, including shared restrooms and communal kitchens in some areas.

Seriously one of the best places to retreat to. Out in the middle of the desert in the middle of nowhere, but close enough to town. Rooms were so cozy plus nice and clean facilities. However I feel theyre understaffed for the amount of traffic that comes through. It takes quite awhile to get to the counter to pay to get in or to buy a soda or souvenir. And I swear there's just something different about the water there. I've been to lots of different geothermal places and the water at Crane Hot springs simply heals and rejuvenates the body quickly. You will notice the difference. I highly recommend this place and I stop every chance I get.

Absolutely lovely. The springs have a great variety of temperatures in one pond. Lots of space to wonder around! Could use a few more lights at night in the water or solar ones along the edges to see. Definitely rustic, meaning the cabins are AWESOME, however you have shared restroom. So bring your robe!! I thoroughly enjoyed my stay!! Staff were so accommodating and kind!

My husband and I stayed two nights in the Steens Lodge Room. We chose a lodge room to have the private patio and soaking tub. The soaking tub was large enough to comfortably hold both of us. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. It is close to the "highway" but since there is almost no traffic on the road that wasn't an issue. The other guests were also all very quiet; for the most part if we hadn't seen other vehicles in the parking lot we would have thought we were there alone. Overall, we enjoyed the experience and will likely visit again. There were a few things which we felt reduced the review from five to four stars: 1. There were no chairs to sit inside the room. The front and back patios had outside chairs, but February was too cold to use them. 2. There was no hook to hang a towel within arm's reach of the shower. 3. With the minimal restaurants and grocery stores nearby, it would have been appreciated to (a) have more advance information about what would be available in the kitchen and (b) more packaged/convenience food offerings in the reception area.

Wife and I went here as one of our stops on our mini bike trip over the summer for our anniversary. Our booked room was having electrical issues so we got bumped to a suite. This was an unexpected surprise! What a great out of the way place overall. Well kept up. The hot spring itself is amazing and pleasant and open 24 hours (go watch the sunrise!) We will 100% be back someday. PS. Bring your own food and utilize the communal kitchen. Just might have to share or wait turn to cook. We brought a cooler and microwaveable items.

Crane Hot Springs was the ideal final stop after three months on the road… quiet, remote, and relaxing, especially at night and in the early morning. The large soaking pond is the star - warm, mineral-rich water with plenty of room to spread out, and it’s spectacular under the stars. The facilities were clean and functional, and the overall atmosphere felt peaceful and respectful. We also enjoyed the trails around the property, perfect for an easy walk and some scenery between soaks. If you’re looking for an authentic desert hot springs experience rather than a polished resort, this place is a gem.

Full RV hookups with 30A and 50A plugs. This is one of favorite places to stay. The pond doesn't close but has quite hours. I love seeing the progress as they expand and up grade the property. They have rooms, yerts, permanently placed RVs, tent and RV camping. On a clear night the stars are amazing. I showed my wife the rings around Saturn with a very simple telescope.

I can’t say thank you enough for such a wonderful experience out in the middle of no where soaking up earths minerals. I drove 5 hours one way to experience my soak, and I don’t regret it one bit. The grounds are clean, informational and kind employees in the office during check in, and a great soak in a reasonably priced private room. Thank you so much!

Great experience. We will definitely be back! A big thank you to Kert - who helped me fix something on my rig. They went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Bring soap for the showers. The hot spring was great. There are hot and warm zones you can swim around to. Facilities were very clean.
